Sydney City Limits gets Creative

The inaugural Sydney City Limits festival was held over the weekend in Centennial Park in Sydney and boasted multiple stages across the venue. Creative Productions provided lighting and video production on the “Park Stage” which hosted headlining acts Grace Jones and Phoenix.

The lighting design from Jeff Pavey centered around a host of fixtures from GLP – German Light Products and ROBE lighting, with over 30 X4 and X4L Washes and 20 Robe BMFLs, as well as TourPro Storm LED Strobes, MDG Foggers and Molefay Duet Blinders. The video component for the stage was supplied from the Sydney office and consisted of TLC Global 4.8mm Tour Pro LED Screen to make a single 10m wide x 5m high 4.8mm pitch LED wall as the backdrop to the stage being fed content from each act from either stage or from font of house.

Creative Productions also brought in a custom floor package for Grace Jones which was based around Sunstrips, X4s and extra BMFLS as well as a single lightsky extreme beam, whilst Chameleon Touring Systems provided an additional floor package for Phoenix which used GLP X4 Bar 20’s.

Control for the Festival was a MA2 full size and A High End Hog 4 Full Boar. Creative Productions again used specialised networking equipment enabling all the various control networks to be connected from stage to front of house with just a main and backup fiber optic connection.

The day saw weather conditions from hot and sunny to heavy rain and it all kept on going until the end, which was a testament to both the equipment and the crew that installed it all.
