Melbourne’s South West Solutions has added more Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20 fixtures to their existing stock consisting of twelve fixtures.
The A.leda B-EYE K20 is a high performance wash light, a breathtaking beam light, and a creator of spectacular visual effects. Its unparalleled versatility makes it an extremely interesting creative tool for all lighting designers.
“We needed a fixture that was bright and could keep up with the latest discharge models,” explained Matt Downs, managing director of SWS. “Their sheer output is impressive as is their zoom range and the added bonus of eye candy effects.”
The entire B-EYE inventory went straight out on to the Icehouse tour designed by Alex Saad who placed them on the mid and back truss.
“I love them!” Alex declared. “They’re big, beamy and punchy and cut in front of the video wall, which is good. The colours are great, I don’t have problems with yellow or gold or anything like that. Great mixing and a big, visual head plus I can do a lot of zoom effects during the show.”
Alex uses a lot of the macros and internal back ground effects, with patterns seen dancing above the band’s heads.
“It’s another element you can add to the show,” he said. “I don’t use the effects in every song, just four or five. During Icehouse which is a dark moody song, I use the prism effect very slowly creating a whole different look.”
Alex was also impressed by the weight of the B-EYE as well as their reliability.
