Supervisor, Sound and Vision

In this role you’ll be responsible for the efficient delivery of Sound and Vision systems for performances across our premier venues. As a senior member of the Production team, you will utilise your technical expertise to lead, train, and supervise the Sound and Vision technicians in day-to-day operations. You will work closely with the team to deliver technical requirements for the Reimagining of the State Theatre. This is a great opportunity to further develop your leadership skills in an exciting time of activity and change at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Variable-time fixed term position to September 2024. Band 3.2 $82,837 (pro rata) + super + leave entitlements (hourly rate $41.92)

Your Skills and Experience

  • Possess a relevant Diploma or higher at a recognised institution or equivalent experience working within the entertainment industry
  • Basic or Intermediate Riggers licence, Test & Tag licence, Elevated Work Platform licence, Occupational Health and Safety and in-house equipment relevant to the position are preferred.
  • Certification or demonstrated learning with 5 years’ minimum experience in the following areas:
    • Drawing programs (Vectorworks, CAD or similar)
    • System design software (Mapp 3d, Soundvision, Array Calc)
    • System alignment software (Compass, R1, LA Network Manager)
    • Vision/Audio software (Qlab or similar)
    • Electro-Acoustic software programs
  • Have a keen eye for detail and the expertise to deliver system designs within specification and short time frames.

The Production department sits within the Performing Arts pillar and comprises of a team that delivers production services for ACM across Staging, Lighting, Audio, Broadcast, Wardrobe, Stage Management, and Safety/Training to enable the safe and efficient delivery of events across all of our venues and spaces.
