Supervisor, Sound

About the Role

This is a leadership position and focuses on the technical expertise to lead, train, and supervise within the Sound and Vision department, as well as work together with other production departments, presenters and suppliers.

It is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and operation of sound & vision equipment for pre-production, bump-in, rehearsals, performances, Recording/Broadcast/Post-production and bump-out of events in line with the presenters’ requirements.

Full-time, ongoing position. Salary is band 3.2 $80,401 plus super

Your Skills and Experience

  • Possess a relevant Diploma or higher at a recognised institution or equivalent experience working within the entertainment industry
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in live Sound and/or Vision
  • Have skills in professional vision systems or be willing to learn and operate.
  • Experience with leading teams of up to 10 people
  • Basic or Intermediate Riggers licence, Fire Emergency Warden training, Test & Tag licence, Elevated Work Platform licence, Occupational Health and Safety and ‘in house’ equipment relevant to the position are preferred.
  • Certification or demonstrated learning in the following areas;
    • Drawing programs (Vectorworks AutoCAD or similar)
    • Vision/Audio System alignment and prediction software
    • Vision/Audio playback and editing systems
    • Vision/Audio console operation
  • Preference will be given to people with the following skills and or experience:
    • Operating audio for large orchestras.
    • Ability to read and/or take cues from orchestral scores.

The Production department sits within the Performing Arts pillar and comprises of a team that delivers production services for ACM across Staging, Lighting, Audio, Broadcast, Wardrobe, Stage Management, and Safety/Training to enable the safe and efficient delivery of events across all of our venues and spaces.
