This position provides leadership & technical expertise to lead, train and supervise the lighting crews in all areas of Arts Centre Melbourne’s venues and performance spaces.
The Supervisor, Lighting is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery by overseeing lighting crews for pre-production, rigging, rehearsals, performances, recording and de-rigging of events in line with the presenters’ budgeted schedules.
Full-Time ongoing position. Band 3.2 $80,401 plus superannuation.
Your Skills and Experience
- Possess a relevant Diploma or higher at a recognised institution or equivalent experience working within the entertainment industry
- Basic or Intermediate Riggers licence, Fire Emergency Warden training, Test & Tag licence, Elevated Work Platform licence, Occupational Health and Safety and `in house’ equipment relevant to the position are preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in lighting industry
- Client facing, demonstrates professional communication skills
- Lighting programming experience, preferably GrandMA3
- Lighting design experience
- Knowledge of lighting networks
- Moving light knowledge
- Experience leading large teams
- Experience with theatrical fly systems
- Experience as a venue head electrician
- Certification or demonstrated learning on the following software packages desired;
- Vectorworks, AutoCAD or similar
- WYSIWYG
- Lightwright
- Moving Light Assistant
- Preference will be given to people with the following skills and or experience;
- Experience lighting orchestras
- Experience lighting school performances
- Experience lighting bands
- Experience busking shows
