A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our dedicated Arts and Culture team for casual Supervising Technician to oversee the delivery of venue bookings of the Hawthorn Arts Centre. The Supervising Technician position is a casual role and contributes to the department’s aim of providing quality arts and cultural experiences for the community.

Using your excellent customer service skills, you will develop new relationships with hirers whilst also providing technical support to the Arts & Culture team’s calendar of programmed events. Responsible for the delivery of staging and technical requirements, event management, staffing and customer liaison, your role is truly hands on! You will also be responsible for assisting the Venue Services Supervisor to develop and review the venue’s systems of operations, policies and strategic plans relevant to the Arts and Culture Department.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional within the events/arts arena. Having the ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders will play a key role in the effective delivery of Council’s programs and events. You will possess a relevant qualification and have demonstrated experience with preparing event plans and executing them. You will bring experience with event booking systems and specialist technical knowledge. This is the ideal opportunity for an organised, team player seeking a varied community focussed role!
