The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is renowned for its presentation and management of performing arts productions, for producing and staging special events and festivals, and for involvement as an entrepreneur with major touring productions. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team in the casual role of Technician – Staging.
Working under limited supervision, you will provide hands-on professional, client focused services to venue hirers and other QPAT Units. Key functions of the position include work with teams of technicians in multiple venues in a high-pressure hands-on team environment. Duties include the set up, operation and maintenance of production equipment, control systems, scenery, rigging and effects in a live theatre environment.
We are looking for high calibre individuals with suitable technical experience, good communication skills and exposure to similar live theatre environments. Availability will be required for day, evening and weekend shifts including extended periods to service hirer’s schedules. Depending on business activity, you may be required to work more than thirty-eight (38) hours per week however approved penalty and overtime rates are applicable.
