One of the most legendary festivals in the EDM scene, Ultra made its debut down under on the weekend of 23-24 February 2019. Headlined by performers such as Martin Garix, Adam Beyer, The Chainsmokers, Dubfire B2B Nicole Moudaber, ILLENIUM and Marshmello the highly successful music festival was held at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, and Sydney’s Parramatta Park on the Sunday. The international festival is highly successful due to epic stage production with world-class visuals, lighting and pyrotechnics, as well as epic stage designs that have become synonymous with the Ultra brand. Ultra-Australia was no different thanks to the work of Stagekings Australia.
Stagekings were contracted to build the giant main stages and provide the production rigging in both Melbourne and Sydney. After expanding their inventory of Eurotruss even further over the last year, they were in a good position to deliver the stages and rigging in each state. “We’ve been using the Eurotruss System for all of the events we’ve been building around the country, and to have the capacity to supply such a large amount of truss to not just one, but two of these massive stages was brilliant. We chose Eurotruss to complement our Layher scaffolding system, and I would trust no other materials for such complex projects,” stated Jeremy Fleming, Managing Director of Stagekings.
To build the two main stages, Stagekings used over 200 pieces of the Eurotruss HD44 square truss in Sydney, with over 200 of the HD44 and 100 pieces of the HD34 square truss for the Melbourne stage. In addition, Stagekings also provided another 200 pieces of the Eurotruss HD44 truss for the Resistance stage in Sydney.
