St Kilda Festival Technical Manager

  • Salary Range Band 7 $98,730 to $110,484 plus 10% Super
  • Temporary Full Time – 4.5 month Contract position – Commencing late Oct 2021.
  • St Kilda or During COVID-19 Pandemic, with ELT/DHHS direction, this role is able to work part-time online from home, however on-site work is essential for the role for some planning and when delivering the event.

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

About the Role

Working alongside the Festivals Production and Operations Managers, the Technical Manager will form an integral part of the production management team for the 2022 St Kilda Festival.  The role will take control of the broad technical deliverables required to ensure the event meets the organisational objectives and the wider COVID Safe requirements.

We are looking for an experienced Event Technical Manager to join the team in this exciting time as events start to re-emerge, you will have worked across the full production process for live events and festivals and have a strong knowledge of specific technical elements needed to stage outdoor music festival style events, particularly in a local government context.

Duties:

  • Management of all technical related elements required for staging the event.
  • Oversight of Staging, Audio and Lighting design for festival performance areas.
  • End to end management of technical contractors.
  • Providing technical advice to external event participants and Festival partners involved with activating at the event

Skills and Experience 

  • Strong event and production management experience.
  • Solid understanding of technical production required for staging outdoor music festivals.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Provide First Aid certificate desirable
  • CAD or Vectorworks skills.
