Tipped as Australia’s premier lighting event, the organisers of SPARC 2015 have just released information about additional speaker events in what is already a stellar line up of international and national talent.
Wednesday 27th May, 7.00pm, SPARC is presenting the Asia-Pacific Lighting Systems Workshop. This two hour event covering seven discussions, will bring the minds of many leading scientists in the Asia-Pacific region to present on Lighting Measurements, Standards and Regulations, Lighting Controls and Innovative Applications to reduce Energy Consumption.
Speakers such as Ian Cowling, Adrian Cupitt, Amir Moayedzadeh and Rod Hewins will discuss the question; ‘Can you believe your light-meter?’
Whilst Dorukalp Durmus and Wendy Davis will examine; ‘Colour Difference and Energy Consumption of Absorption-minimising Spectral Power Distributions’, just two out of the seven discussions proposed.
Thursday 28th May, 7.00pm, Based on the global sensation going viral, and back after popular demand at SPARC Design, SPARC International Lighting will host its first PechuKucha evening, a fast-flowing night of hand-picked lighting experts and architects presenting 20 slides in quick succession.
Each presenter will share their insights and designs on 20 slides over six minutes with each slide advancing after 20 seconds. Entry to this event is included in ‘Display ticket’.
Friday 29th May 1.00pm – 2.00pm, Wrapping up the three-day event, a unique opportunity exists to listen and be involved at the Speaker Panel Session. The session will be hosted by inventor and entrepreneur, Mark Pesce who co-invented VRML – a 3D interface to the web, has written six books, was a judge on ABC’s The New Inventors for seven years and regularly comments on the intersection of technology and society for JJJ Hack, The Project and ABC Radio.
Mr Pesce will open the floor before turning the table to the featured SPARC speakers for an audience Q&A-style session.
SPARC speakers have been invited back on stage for this highly sought after Q&A session and will answer audience questions on all-topics lighting. It is the ideal opportunity for anyone who has questions for a speaker, or who missed any of the speakers throughout the event to hear from those specific speakers before SPARC concludes.
SPARC offers architects, designers and lighting specialists an opportunity to hear and learn the latest research, insights and product knowledge that the international lighting community has to offer.
Held at Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island, from 27-29 May 2015, SPARC promises to educate and inspire with its impressive line-up of internationally renowned lighting specialities.
