The most talked about boutique hotel and function venue on the Gold Coast, The Island Hotel is seeking a full time professional Sound Technician to join our team.
The duties will include, but not limited to:
– Operate and manage audio equipment for various events.
– Setting up, operating and packing down of all sound and lighting equipment for live entertainment, functions and events, weddings and daily sound and lighting requirements.
– Maintenance of all inhouse audio and lighting equipment, Liaise with required contractors – electrical, plumbing, carpentry, IT and AV
– Liaise with the Sales executive designing client sound and lighting requirements for events.
– Ensure high-quality audio experiences for all performances.
– Collaborate with other technical departments to bring events to life.
– positioning equipment, such as spotlights, floodlights and cables, and operating lights during stage performances
– setting up and adjusting equipment such as microphones, and operating sound mixing consoles and associated equipment to regulate volume and sound quality
About You:
– Certificate III or IV in Live Production and Technical Services (preferably not mandatory)
– At least 12 months’ experience in a similar role.
– Proven experience in audio technology.
– Familiarity with advanced audio systems and equipment.
– Strong teamwork and communication skills.
– Have excellent customer service skills, for this is a client-facing role.
– Ability to work flexible hours due to the nature of the industry.
– Have a friendly, positive nature and like working in a close team.
