Sound Engineer (Full-Time)

About Us: The Century Group is a live entertainment producer, festival presenter and the operator of a suite of venues that includes the Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, the Factory Theatre complex, the Sydney Comedy Store and The Concourse Performing Arts Centre Chatswood. With a rich history of producing concerts, theatre shows, comedy festivals, and more, we pride ourselves on creating unforgettable experiences for audiences. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sound Engineer to join our dynamic team and help bring our productions to life.

About the Role: As a Live Sound Engineer at Century, you will be responsible for setting up, and operating FOH/mons systems for a wide range of live events. You will work closely with directors, production teams, and other technical staff to ensure that every performance sounds great and runs smoothly. Century Venues has an exciting opportunity for several motivated individuals to join the team as Skilled Sound Engineer to work across our entertainment venues. Our new Sound are passionate about music, comedy and entertainment, have solid experience working with all aspects of live entertainment in venues.

Key priorities for the Sound Engineer / Operator position include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating and mixing FOH / MON for all types of live performances
  • Familiar with Analogue and Digital audio systems
  • Has used and is familiar with a selection of Analogue and Digital Consoles
  • Patching and mic’ing techniques for live performances
  • Conducting regular cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of sound equipment.
  • Representing the Group through liaison with Tour Managers, Production Managers, Artists, Promoters and our Clients on show days.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving for audio systems
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures
  • Taking responsibility of stage and production areas
  • Reporting; end of event,


What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience as a Sound Operator, preferably within the live entertainment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of audio consoles, fixtures, and other related equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by event schedules. This is not a 9 to 5 position and requires the individual to work evenings and most weekends. It will require the individual to have a high degree of flexibility in their work times.
