About the Position
As we begin to reopen our doors, we are seeking 3 casuals to join this fantastic team. As a General Hand within the Sound & Vision team you will deliver effective services to ensure optimum efficiency and success in the presentation of productions across all of Arts Centre Melbourne’s performance spaces. You will assist with the operation of sound and visual equipment for pre-production, rigging, rehearsal, performances, recordings, and de-rigging of shows and events in line with the presenters’ schedules.
We will provide you with ongoing support, training and development as you continue to build your career.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Possess a relevant trade qualification, Diploma or higher at a recognised institution or equivalent extensive experience working within the Sound and Vision entertainment industry.
- Basic or Intermediate Riggers licence, Fire Emergency Warden training, Test & Tag licence, Elevated Work Platform licence, Occupational Health and Safety and `in house’ equipment relevant to the position are preferred.
- Some understanding of other technical departments working practices in wider Production, to ensure smooth delivery of events and services
- Some experience and knowledge in the use of basic hand and power tools including the appropriate safety requirements of their use.
