Sommer has announced that it’s shipping its new data cable series in three versions — Pure, Armored, and Superflex, from Cat5e to high-frequency Cat7 — that are designed to provide high-quality data transmission in a variety of applications.
The cables offer specialized designs for harsh environments to help assure stable connections under adverse conditions. The centrepiece of each of the three variants is the SC-Mercator cable, which is available in different versions.
The Ethernet connection cable KATE, consisting of the SC-Mercator CAT.6a Armored and Neutrik connector housing NE8MX-B-TOP, provides extra protection with stainless steel armoring and PVC jacket. Cable is certified to the True Outdoor Protection (TOP) standard and has IP65 protection against water, dust and other environmental elements. With high-power capacity, the cable are designed to remain flexible and easy to lay.
Sommer’s PUR jacket cable X6TE is designed to be abrasion-resistant and secure from mechanical effects and UV radiation. The X6TE version combines Neutrik NE8MX-B-TOP housing with the flexible SC-Mercator CAT.6 Superflex (Art. 580-0201) network cable.
Sommer’s Cat7 version, with transmission frequency up to 600 MHz, is well suited for demanding requirements in speed and reliability. The P7TE version with SC-Mercator CAT.7 PUR bulk cable (Art. 581-0071) relies on the NE8MX-B-TOP, while the P7RE version is equipped with the innovative NE8MXR-B-TOP housing. This design allows the housing to be completely retracted, enabling flexible and universal use with RJ45 sockets.
