Your Future Position
The P.A. People have been awarded a major works subcontract to deliver specialist stage machinery for the New Performing Arts Venue (NPAV) currently being constructed at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). The scope of delivery includes the installation of automated theatrical hoisting, automated forestage platforms and automated acoustic dampeners.
To ensure the successful execution of on-site works, we are looking to appoint a Site Manager for the duration of project, who will play an instrumental role in the delivery of what is expected to be a unique and challenging project, coordinating with our project team and other site participants to both realise our project plan and adapt it to changing circumstances.

About the role
In this role your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
- Assume responsibility for execution of the works as planned.
- Reviewing the progress of the project, reporting areas of concern to the Project Manager.
- Work proactively with the Project Manager to identify project obstacles, resource deficiencies, and external factors that may impede project execution.
- Attend site meetings and be the site point of contact for other trades and the managing contractor on site.
- Coordinate receipt of goods, materials, and service on site.
- Checking site diagrams, drawings, and reports as required.
- Finding solutions to problems that occur throughout the project, communicating relevant information/details back to the team.
- Chair Take 5 and Toolbox Meetings (or allocate a representative) prior to the commencement of daily works. Reviewing and monitoring, in conjunction with workers, SWMS/SOPS, reporting anomalies to PAP WHS Advisor.
- Ensuring that services provided on site are carried out according to quality policies and procedures and that people working with them have sound knowledge of the Quality System.
- Acting on quality-related recommendations and instructions from the Project Manager and/or the Quality Coordinator.

About You
You will have:
- 3+ years on site experience (including construction sites).
- Experience in the installation of automated theatre equipment, including hoists, automated forestage platforms and acoustic dampeners.
- Experience in successfully site managing projects and programs on time, and on schedule.
- Substantial relationship management ability/experience, including with external building stakeholders, consultants/contractors with strong diplomacy and interpersonal and influencing skills and experience.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring site staff.
- Well developed skills to read and interpret plans, drawings, design documentation and specifications with an attention to detail when preparing material lists and reports.
- Tertiary qualifications in a field related to engineering, building, construction or theatre systems and relevant industry experience.
- Proven practical experience with work health and safety principles and practices, including but not limited to SWMS’s and risk assessments.
- High-level organisational and administrative skills; the ability to prioritise, organise and coordinate a multiple of tasks against strict deadlines.
- High-level of PC literacy, including proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and Outlook.
