Shure has announced the addition of free software networking capabilities for the SLX-D digital wireless system, including Wireless Workbench 6 software and a ShurePlus Channels iOS app that will be compatible with the system later this summer. The software solutions offer the necessary RF management that professionals rely on for critical oversight and control of Shure wireless systems.
Wireless Workbench 6 software allows discovery and automatic connection to all Shure devices on the network for remote monitoring and control. Users can scan the spectrum, identify open frequencies, and deploy to networked systems. It can also help establish network parameters and track all devices used in any given production, manage alerts and make adjustments in real-time without interrupting the performance, and implement necessary changes to Shure devices remotely from a computer (e.g., naming devices, gain adjustments, IR presets).
The ShurePlus Channels app helps users monitor events and make real-time changes using a mobile device. The downloadable iOS app can be connected via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet adapter to automatically discover and manage Shure networked devices. Users are able to monitor RF signal strength, audio levels, and battery life from their mobile devices, and they can also remotely diagnose and adjust channel information.
“SLX-D quickly became a preferred easy-to-use digital wireless system ideal for users in education, Houses of Worship, corporate facilities, live performances, and more. The ability to access stable signals with reliable RF performance, but still provide the scalability needed for different environments, was a huge win for customers,“ says Nick Wood, Senior Wireless Category Director at Shure. “Now, with the addition of these software upgrades, users can instantly improve where and how they are managing performance.”
