In late 2019, Crown Perth was home to Pop-up Globe; the world’s first full-scale temporary working replica of the second Globe, the theatre Shakespeare and his company built and opened in 1614 after the first Globe theatre burned to the ground.
Audiences experienced full-scale battles, fake blood, stage acrobatics, and more than 450 beautiful bespoke period costume pieces.
GSD Productions were in charge of the lighting installation with One 20 Productions providing the lighting gear including 26 brand new ShowPRO LED Fresnel W/W HD DMX Zoom.
This immensely popular Fresnel produces 180W output and has an electronic zoom of 15°-60° with CRI of >90, making it the ideal fixture for theatres – even when they are 400 years old!
One 20 Productions’ managing director Damian John was impressed by the amount of coverage a single Fresnel can provide and of course, the versatility the zoom provides which is DMX controlled for easy focusing and adjustment.
“These Fresnels are perfect for stage wash,” he added. “Being LED, we don’t have to service them or change bulbs so they can be hung in awkward to reach positions. Plus you don’t need dimmers.”
With flawless 16 bit dimming and a selection of four dimming curves, the ShowPRO LED Fresnel W/W HD DMX Zoom also offers standalone control with last setting recall on the power cycle.
“They are basically a solid, reliable, Fresnel fixture,” Damian said. “They’re a real theatre workhorse fixture that unpretentiously goes about their work.”
