Senior Vision Operator

Salary: AUD 54,622.00 – 61,973.00 per annum plus Superannuation and penalty rates

Employment status: Term Contract up to 8 June 2025

Employment arrangement: Part Time – 24/7 Rotating roster with a minimum of 45.6 hours per fortnight

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic technical team as a Senior Vision Operator. Play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional vision services for events and performances hosted in the City of Sydney’s indoor venues. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of vision systems, ensuring high-end technical production service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • coordinate the setup, operation, pack-down, and maintenance of vision systems and associated infrastructure for events, utilizing equipment such as Christie projectors, Blackmagic ATEM, and Barco S3 or similar
  • supervise Vision casual staff and act as the primary contact for vision-related services for hirers, contractors, and third parties
  • employ effective communication to manage stakeholder expectations and requirements within the lighting field
  • determine priorities and monitor performance to ensure efficient use of allocated resources
  • assist in planning, facilitating, and improving production resources and systems.


Essential Criteria:

  • minimum 5 years of professional technical experience in the live production, corporate, or events industry
  • practical competencies in setup, programming, and operation of vision systems using Blackmagic ATEM, Barco S3 systems, or similar consoles
  • experience in live vision switching, vision systems operation, and system setup for events, concerts, or live entertainment
  • experience in live streaming of events and proficiency in presentation software such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Millumin, and Qlab
  • willingness and ability to undertake physical work for extended periods and work flexible hours.
