Senior Video Technician NZ

Part of the NEP worldwide network, Big Picture is a leading video technology provider for the television, sports, music and events industries in the Asia Pacific region with divisions in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland. Due to outstanding growth in the industry in New Zealand and at Big Picture, we are looking to expand our team of skilled Video Technicians. Successful candidates will be involved with the onsite setup, operation and removal of the equipment required on our shows. You must have knowledge of video production equipment and actively seek ways to further your knowledge.

Essential Criteria:

  • Good understanding of video technology and its use in the events, music and television industries.
  • Experience in specifying equipment to meet the requirements of large-scale video productions.
  • Proficient and naturally adept at using IT equipment and other industry-related technologies.
  • Capable of interpreting video plans and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Personable and composed when working with clients.
  • Confident in supervising junior staff and freelance staff.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy issues with video equipment and signal flows.
  • Maintain client relationships onsite when required.
  • Interprets instructions and issues arising, then implements actions as appropriate.
  • Knows the value of submitting project debriefs, faulty equipment and incident reports.
  • Respectful of safety standards and reports and hazards/incidents.
