We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Video Engineer. You must be experienced in working on mid to large-scale events and be competent at delivering to a high standard in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor venues. You will be responsible for all elements of the show and carry this out in a professional and competent manner.
Summary of principal duties and responsibilities:
- Working from and interpreting detailed schematics, including preparation of equipment, power calculations and configurations from technical drawings.
- Coordinating equipment during show prep stage of a project at the Company’s warehouse facilities. Liaising with the Operations Department, in the completion of the show prep process.
- Leading a team of technicians and crew onsite when necessary.
- Setup, operation and de-rig of Video systems for live events of any size.
- Excellent understanding of the technical requirements needed to deliver reliable live video.
- Ability to liaise with both the client and colleagues in a professional and diplomatic nature.
- Liaising with the customer where necessary to source all relevant production details (in particular identifying exceptional requirements).
- Liaising with all PRG departments, Project Managers and any external companies to ensure the best outcome for each event.
- Maintaining the video equipment in a good, safe and efficient working condition.
- Operating within current health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment.
- Keeping abreast of the advances in technologies and techniques in the industry.
- Offer technical advice and support to other team members when necessary.
Qualities and attributes required:
- Previous experience in a similar role with a detailed knowledge of all aspects of video technology.
- Excellent understanding of the technical requirements needed to deliver live video including all video formats, signal types and associated cabling.
- Essential experience with projection, analog, digital video systems and LED.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous experience of supervising a team.
- Extensive live show operating experience.
- Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office application.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills with the confidence to make critical decisions when necessary.
- Good working knowledge of HD Camera Systems, Widescreen Projection, Media Servers and Indoor / Outdoor LED screens for large scale corporate and public events.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi task.
- Must display a positive and can do attitude both in the warehouse and on-site.
