The Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre is a thriving 491 seat regional performing arts centre that presents over 170 performances each year to 50,000 people.
The theatre presents an annual season of theatre, live music, dance, and circus and as well as delivering the annual Wagga Comedy Fest. The theatre is also booked for performances produced by commercial hirers and local community groups showcasing high profile music, comedy, family, and tribute acts.
Wagga Wagga is a beautiful regional city located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The traditional owners of the land we live and work on are the Wiradjuri people. The city is in a period of growth and has a lot to offer. There are local festivals, active travel pathways for cycling and walking, a vibrant local restaurant and café scene and magnificent parks. An hour’s drive from Wagga is all it takes to climb into the mountains and the city is also within easy reach of major metropolitan centres.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled individual with a passion for safely and efficiently delivering high quality, professional technical and production support to a wide variety of commercial and community user groups of the Civic Theatre.
What we will offer you:
- Term contact until January 2024 – Maternity Leave Backfill position.
- This position is based on a 38-hour week with weekend and evening work required.
- Remuneration of $2,318.42 gross per fortnight + superannuation.

Duties of this position will include but are not limited to:
- Supervise a team of technicians whilst acting as Duty Technician for shows.
- Act as a Technician and operator for events including audio, lighting, audio visual, projection and staging.
- Coordinate the planning, delivery, set-up, and operation of production equipment.
- Provide technical expertise, production and operational information and advice to hirers.
- Assist in the development and delivery of theatre maintenance plan.
What you will need to succeed:
- Demonstrated experience relevant to the role including knowledge and understanding of stage craft including audio, lighting, audio visual, projection and staging as required.
- Relevant Certification in theatre or live performance (preferred).
- Skills in administration, effective verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of WH&S requirements for event planning and delivery.
