About the role…

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Theatre Technician to join our team!

Supporting the Playford Civic Centre and Shedley Theatre, the Senior Theatre Technician will play a pivotal role in bringing a broad range of productions to life. 

Your expertise in lighting and sound and your ability to lead and supervise a team of Theatre Technicians will be an integral part of contributing to the best visual performance of theatre and function activities for all hirers of the City of Playford’s Civic Venues.

About You…

It’s important to us that you are the right fit to join our team, but just as important, that Playford is the right place for you.

You are someone with considerable prior experience in the Live Theatre environment and you will have a strong knowledge and application of sound, lighting and fly equipment. You will also possess a minimum Theatre Technician Certificate III or demonstrated equivalent experience, Elevated Work Platform Certification and a current Driver’s Licence. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities;
  • A commitment to improving the work practices and procedures within the Civic Venues team;
  • The ability to supervise and lead a team of Theatre Technicians, exercising initiative and judgement.
