Mandylights is seeking to engage Sydney based Senior Technicians in both casual and contracted roles to assist in project delivery over several busy months. We hope to find a couple of rockstars who are interested in being an integral part of project delivery with the possibility of longer-term engagements and/or full-time employment.
We are looking for Senior-level technicians with a minimum of 5 years experience – ideally experienced in leading sites or teams, because in this role you will provide leadership, coordination and hands-on delivery of the installation operation and removal of technical aspects of projects. Position Description
The Senior Technician is a role that assists in the development, execution, installation and maintenance of projects across the Mandylights group of companies. Reporting to the Project Managers and senior technical team, this role will be responsible for the technical delivery of projects and will require constant communication with other stakeholders to ensure that technical and production aspects of projects are delivered to the highest possible standard.
While the role immediately focuses on the technical/physical delivery of projects, it is our hope that any FTE role will grow/develop into something more – assisting in and facilitating technical proposals for projects, tenders and pitches, as well as leading continuous improvement in process and technology.
General responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Act as a senior member of staff in the preparation of equipment, on-site installation, operation and removal of technical aspects of projects as required.
• Alongside other senior technicians; lead, collaborate and pro-actively develop technical-based solutions for projects and assist in technical troubleshooting. These solutions may include but are not limited to networking,
programming, systems design, visualisation, interactivity, etc, always with respect to budget and other project demands.
• Advanced knowledge of lighting and control network standards, particularly relating to large scale sACN, MA Net, DMX and other common protocols. Demonstrated knowledge of common lighting equipment including
conventional, automated fixtures and large scale low-voltage fixture systems.
• Translate project technical objectives into tasks and effectively communicate project technical requirements to internal (and possibly external) stakeholders.
• Work closely with the Mandylights designers to ensure maintenance and consistency of design quality, practice and style and uphold our reputation for outstanding creative and flawless technical at all stages of delivery.
• Act as a senior member of the team to identify and pursue technical efficiency across all company projects.
• Assist and support junior technicians.
Position requirements:
– Minimum 5 years experience (or proven track record) in technical delivery across lighting or events based industry.
– A valid passport and no history of immigration refusal to any country
– A clean criminal record
– Valid Australian Drivers licence – class 1 required – class 2 preferred
