Senior Technicians (Casual)

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is a world-class venue that accommodates a range of conventions, exhibitions, sporting and entertainment events.  As a purpose built convention and exhibition centre, we offer our clients unsurpassed conferencing and exhibition facilities and services, including advanced technological infrastructure and an in house Audio Visual (AV) team.  

Our in house AV experts work with all clients from developing creative concepts, through to event delivery and post event debrief meetings to ensure that no matter the size, or level of complexity we deliver an exceptional event experience every time.   The AV team have delivered some of the largest and technically complex corporate events held in Australia and is continually working on new ways to bring client concepts to life.

We currently have exciting opportunities for casual Senior Technicians to join our team as an all-rounder, or as a specialist in audio, vision , lighting or rigging.  As a member of the Audio-Visual team, you will be required to assist in all facets of delivering live events as required.

Specific tasks and responsibilities of the Senior Technician can include:

  • Providing advice and recommendations to others within the team with respect to the various AV components of live events
  • Managing client expectations with respect to the AV aspects of their event
  • Leading the team of technicians, and directing the work as required
  • Planning, bumping in, operating and bumping out of events.
  • Assisting with maximizing the utilization of the venues AV inventor
  • Developing good working relationships with employees and clients

Key selection criteria includes:          

  • AV industry experience in a large entertainment venue
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of large events
  • Good understanding and appreciation of all AV production systems and AV Services (audio, lighting and vision)
  • Ability to understand and recommend solutions for troubleshooting
  • The ability to work a range of shifts, including days, nights and weekends
  • Excellent presentation suitable for a corporate environment, and
  • A genuine interest and the ability to mentor and lead less experienced technicians.
