An exciting opportunity exists for suitably experienced and highly motivated individuals to join our Audio-Visual team in the casual roles of Senior Technician – Vision/Video and Senior Technician – Audio.
Senior Technician – Vision/Video
Reporting to the Manager – Audio Visual, you will be responsible for participating in the Visual functions and providing hands-on, professional and client-focused services to venue hirers and other QPAC Business Units.
Key functions of this position include supervising teams of Audio-Visual technicians working in multiple venues in a high-pressure, hands-on team environment. As well as operating broadcast equipment (including vision switchers, camera control units, recorders, live graphics, etc) and non-linear editing systems (Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci Resolve, etc).
This position requires a high-calibre individual who has demonstrated vision/video skills, with the ability to supervise, motivate and lead teams of technicians in multiple venues and to work effectively within a hands-on team environment.
Senior Technician – Audio
Reporting to the Manager – Audio Visual, you will be responsible for facilitating Audio functions and providing hands-on, professional and client-focused services to venue hirers and other QPAC Business Units.
Key functions of this position include working across multiple venues in a high-pressure, hands-on team environment to the highest standard, and operating Yamaha, Digico, and Allen & Heath digital consoles for live and broadcast use, as well as operating portable audio systems for ancillary events and playback systems (primarily Q-Lab).
This position requires a high-calibre individual who has demonstrated audio skills, with the ability to plan, specify, set-up, operate and maintain Audio Visual equipment and specialised digital control systems in a live theatre environment.
The hours of work will be primarily theatre-based with some maintenance and office work. Availability will be required for day, evening and weekend hours and for extended periods to service hirers’ schedules. Depending on business
activity, you may be required to work more than thirty-eight (38) hours per week, however, approved penalty and overtime rates are applicable.
