LASERVISION is hiring an experienced SENIOR TECHNICIAN with excellent technical and production experience to become an integral member of our Sydney-based team.
Working in delivering unique and exciting technologies and projects, this position is a key technical leadership and production role throughout LASERVISION’s local and international world-class events, productions, and installations.
The Senior Technician will support the business and perform a key leadership role in managing the deployment of projects across both international and domestic markets.
A successful candidate must be well-organised, eager to explore new and exciting lighting technologies and possess strong technical knowledge of entertainment-based technologies.
A detailed description of some of the key tasks you will be responsible for is below:
KEY TASKS
- Support each project’s planning and delivery from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency.
- Assist with the planning, management, and delivery of production and installation elements.
- Provide the sales and creative teams with technical advice and support.
- Assist with procurement of equipment and supplier relationships
- Coordinate the technical equipment needs for all productions, installations, and events, including stock and hired equipment.
- Attend production meetings, design presentations, and any other meetings relating to the Company’s activities and specific productions, installations, workshops, functions, and events.
- Coordinate, supervise, and assist the LASERVISION staff in delivering technical elements for all productions, installations, and events, including staging, lighting, audio, DMX, audiovisual, and control.
- Supervise bump-ins and bump-outs for events and installations, technical rehearsals, and client previews.
- Maintain a safe and WH&S-compliant work environment aligned with relevant policies and guidelines specific to the production environment.
- Ensure all production-specific performance and event activity is delivered within budget and schedule.
- Enable strong creative partnerships and lines of communication to enable the delivery of design elements.
- Travel with installation and production teams to deliver events domestically and, from time to time, internationally.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in mid to large-scale entertainment productions
- Basic theatre/event rigging, lighting, or mechanist experience is desirable.
- An understanding of the artistic process together with the ability to work with creative teams to realise their vision.
- Solid knowledge of technical production techniques.
- High-level computer skills, particularly using spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Ability to keep detailed written and electronic records.
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License and Passport.
- Experience in the planning, installation, and operation of audio-visual systems and digital spaces.
- Experience and understanding of construction processes and timelines.
