About the role

The Hansard team has an exciting opportunity for an ongoing, full-time Senior Technical and Projects Officer.

Hansard has responsibility to accurately and promptly report the proceedings of the Parliament, the parliamentary committees and other forums and for the live broadcasting of Parliament and its committees.

Reporting to the Audiovisual and Broadcast Lead you will oversee the engineering and technical support for audiovisual and broadcasting systems for live events.  You will supervise the maintenance of Hansard’s audio recording infrastructure, particularly in the operation of DCN systems, audio recording and voice recognition, including FTR and support of FTR users.  You will be responsible for managing all audio, broadcast and audiovisual projects across Parliament House and the precinct.

About you

To succeed in this role you have proven experience in the repair, maintenance and installation of audio, audiovisual and broadcasting equipment and facilities gained through working in an audiovisual, television or related industry.  You will have demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of technical projects, participating in project/change control groups ensuring that the division’s requirements are being delivered.

You will be authoritative in your communication and able to influence and negotiate technical requirements with a broad range of stakeholders.
