You will have the opportunity to work in an iconic multi-venue precinct – Toowoomba’s own Empire Theatre and be part of a dedicated team with supportive management, whilst delivering exceptional service utilising sector-leading equipment in our first-rate facilities.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of audio-visual services in all performance spaces
- Maintain all audio-visual systems for the Empire Theatres operation
- Supervision of staff
- Act as FOH Audio operator for large scale theatre performances
- Rig sound, vision, and stage equipment
- Operate audio and other technical equipment as required
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to develop strong working relationship with fellow staff, volunteers, clients, and sponsors
- Ability to operate in a high pressure, time sensitive environment whilst maintaining the highest productions standards
Your technical skills should include:
- High level audio mixing ability
- Advanced knowledge of production audio, and integrated control systems
- Advanced radio microphone placement techniques suitable for musical theatre
- Advanced knowledge of large format live digital audio mixing consoles
- Excellent understanding of microphone selection to suit all performance types
- Demonstrated knowledge of a live theatre environment – rigging, sound and audio visual
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of practical experience in a live theatre or production environment; a demonstrated understanding of the needs of touring productions and comprehensive knowledge of the technical requirements for live theatre.
Tertiary qualification in technical production or certificate relating to theatre workplace skills would be highly regarded.
