About the role
This role sits in the Arts and Cultural Development team as part of the Community Life division which strives to develop healthy, active, connected and safe communities through the delivery of community facilities, events, experiences and life cycle services from birth to older age.
The Senior Production Officer will oversee events for internal, community and commercial clients across the precinct’s venues, ensuring the highest standard of delivery from pre-production, to event completion. This would entail working outside of standard business hours.
As a member of the senior production team, you will provide leadership and support, promoting a positive team culture.
In this role you will:
- Act as primary client liaison and supervise the day to day event production and staff requirements at Bunjil Place,
- Participate as a member of crew for events, in one or more of the following disciplines; lighting, audio, audio/visual, staging or stage management.
- Anticipate potential problems and pre-empt required actions to reduce or remove identified risks and overcome obstacles
- Contribute to day to day and ongoing asset maintenance and renewal programs for the arts and function spaces
- Assist the Coordinator Production Bunjil Place with administrative duties including rosters, event requirements and calendar planning
About you
- Degree or diploma with several years of relevant experience; or higher formal qualifications with a shorter period of experience; or lesser formal qualifications supported by extensive relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge and skills in either audio and audiovisual, lighting or stage mechanics/flying as required for theatre, dance and presentations.
- Extensive experience in the performing arts and business management sectors.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the principles and practices of budgeting and relevant accounting and financial procedures.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions in a calm, professional manner.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including: National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
- Functional Assessment (physio/medical).
- Covid-19 Vaccination in line with State Government directives.
