About the business

Our client, ACLX, is Waikato’s largest supplier of production and equipment services, equipped with a modern high-end inventory. The team provides everything from lighting and audio to streaming services and full event production management, with big clients like The University of Waikato, Globox Arena, Te P?kenga (WINTEC), and St Peter’s School, they are a fan favourite in the events industry. With a team of four in the head office and ten technicians that cover 600-700 events every year, they are on a sustainable path of growth and are not slowing down anytime soon.

About the role

As the Senior Lighting Technician for ACLX, you will work to deliver the highest quality events. Responsible for the efficient day-to-day delivery of events including planning, rigging, programming and operation. This includes:

  • Ensuring lighting equipment is rigged correctly, presented to a high standard and pat tested
  • Creation and implementation of lighting designs
  • Liaising with clients to understand their lighting needs and bring their vision to life
  • Manage the service plan for lighting equipment
  • Minor administrative tasks including creating quotes for events and recording all sales and changes to events in ACLX’s system
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with the internal ACLX team, working together to provide exceptional service to their clients

Skills and Experience

 Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in lighting within the events and entertainment industry
  • A high level of competency with lighting consoles including the ability to plot complex shows
  • Networking and configuring sACN and Artnet systems
  • Rental Management Software exposure or previous experience
  • Excellent customer service experience with strong and effective communication skills
  • Understanding for confidentiality and maintaining a professional manner with all client relationships
  • Leadership capabilities with the experience and backing to supervise staff
  • Ability to create and maintain a collaborative team environment
