We are seeking experienced Senior Lighting Technicians to join our Sydney casual crew pool. This is a hands-on leadership role for technicians who combine strong technical expertise with proven crew leadership and a commitment to safe, high-quality delivery.

This role requires flexible availability and will involve onsite production work, including interstate and occasional international travel.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Production, you will lead the preparation, installation, operation and removal of lighting systems across a diverse range of Mandylights projects.
Your responsibilities will include
- Technical Planning: Contribute to prep lists, power calculations, basic rigging plans, truck packs and production documentation.
- System Delivery: Lead the build, installation and removal of lighting systems to industry-best practice standards.
- Crew Leadership: Manage and lead teams of technicians, casual staff and subcontractors onsite and in the warehouse.
- Troubleshooting: Identify faults and resolve issues across industry-standard and proprietary lighting systems.
- WHS Compliance: Review and enforce SWMS, run toolbox talks and ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with legislation.
- Production Coordination: Work closely with Production Managers to ensure projects are adequately staffed and resourced.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Represent Mandylights professionally onsite with clients and external partners.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to equipment planning and technical innovation discussions.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years technical production experience, particularly in lighting systems installation and operation.
- Strong knowledge of lighting fixtures, control systems, networking, power and rigging practices.
- Working knowledge of CAD software, ideally Vectorworks.
- Basic console operation skills, particularly MA Lighting systems.
- Proven experience leading crews in live or installation environments.
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements within the entertainment industry.
- Confidence using Mac operating systems and online scheduling tools.
- A clean criminal record and current passport.
- Willingness to travel interstate and overseas as required.
- Unrestricted driver’s licence.
