NW Group is seeking an experienced Senior AV Technician to deliver exceptional technical support and flawless event execution at a boutique venue in the Sydney CBD. You’ll lead complex setups, elevate venue standards, and collaborate closely on equipment, processes, and installations.
Role Purpose
Deliver exceptional technical support and event execution at one off NW Group’s Venues, ensuring setups are professional and the venue is maintained to the highest standard.
What you’ll do
- Own event delivery end?to?end: pre?production, setup, operation, and pack?down—always to an exceptional standard.
- Leave venues flawless post?event: clean, tidy, and ready for the next show, with equipment stored and maintained correctly.
- Collaborate with the Venue Operations Manager on equipment selection, process improvements, and installations.
- Lead onsite crews and contractors, uphold safe work practices, and maintain venue SOPs.
- Troubleshoot fast across audio/vision/IT/Lighting to minimize downtime and protect show quality.
- Maintain equipment logs, fault reports, and concise handover notes.
- Support preventative maintenance and readiness checks across all spaces.

Skills & Attributes
- Strong technical capability across audio, vision, lighting, and event setups; expert signal flow.
- Attention to detail and pride in venue presentation and equipment standards.
- Collaborative communicator—calm under pressure, client?focused, and team?oriented.
- Advanced troubleshooting with a methodical, safety?first approach.
- Knowledge of Dante/AV?over?IP, SDI/HDMI, Keynote, PPT, QLAB, is advantageous.
Qualifications & Experience (Preferred)
- 5+ years in professional AV/live events, with onsite leadership responsibility.
- WHS awareness; White Card and EWP/basic rigging tickets beneficial.
- Flexibility for early starts/evenings/weekends aligned to event schedules.
