Senior AV Technician

St Monica’s College, Epping is a leading multi-award winning school which serves the northern region of Melbourne. This coeducational Catholic College (Years 7 – 12) is comprised of two suburban campuses and its rural campus, Ostia at Strath Creek.

A vacancy exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Audio-Visual (AV) Technician to work at the College.   This is a full-time position commencing as soon as possible.  Hours of work are 8 am to 4.36 pm, Monday to Friday.  Some night (after hours) and weekend work is required.

Role Outline

We are seeking an experienced Senior Audio-Visual Technician to support the delivery of audio, visual and lighting services for the College.  As the Senior AV Technician, you will also provide maintenance, recommendations and planning for the operations and upgrades of AV equipment in performance and event spaces as well as classroom locations with audio, visual and lighting fixtures.

Core Role

  • Coordinate the requirements of audio and visual presentations for College assemblies, presentations, meetings and other major events
  • Respond to all incoming audio visual and video conferencing support requests and resolve issues within a timely manner
  • Asset Management of Audio-Visual assets, including issuing of equipment, loans and undertaking a cyclical replacement schedule
  • Management of booking schedules, calendar and equipment requirements for events and loan AV equipment
  • From time to time provide support for major events outside of normal College operating hours. This includes night events and the occasional weekend event.

AV & Media Specific

  • Tertiary qualifications or accreditation in audio visual technologies (including live AV), lighting design and stage management
  • Familiarity with installation of modern audio-visual technologies would be an advantage
  • Experience using video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro and the Creative Cloud Suite would be an advantage
  • Train and assist users in the use of Audio Visual technologies including Projectors, Interactive Screens, Wireless Projection, Cameras and other equipment
  • Monitoring of the Audio Visual budget and provide recommendations for purchasing
  • Experience using Allan & Heath Digital Mixing Consoles, programming and operation of basic lighting consoles and related peripherals.

ICT

  • Previous Service Desk or ICT Desktop Support experience
  • Experience supporting users with video conferencing platforms (e.g. Skype, Google Meet)
  • Experience supporting users with Microsoft O365, Exchange, Active Directory, Google Apps is an advantage.

Salary for this position is in line with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2013 as varied from time to time.  Range $60,000 – $75,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
