Located in the heart of Melbourne’s Fed Square, ACMI has an exciting full-time ongoing opportunity for you to join the Technical Services Team as a Senior AV Support Technician. The role coordinates daily AV operations at ACMI with the support of AV Technicians. This includes the provision of on-demand AV support for function spaces, galleries and studios; coordination of preventative and reactive maintenance activities, training, inventory management, and setting up and packing down AV equipment for exhibition installations and events. Reporting to the AV Technical Manager you will supervise and perform the Technician on Duty function, train staff, maintain technical documentation, provide recommendations on AV systems and coordinate repairs, maintenance and support for AV systems.
Our ideal team member will have relevant qualifications and/or significant work experience in providing technical support, preferably within the creative industries sector and/or a gallery environment. You will have an elevated work platform and/or a forklift licence and/or possess a WorkSafe Certification in Rigging of Class RB (Rigging Basic) or above. Trained as a competent person for testing and tagging electrical equipment you will be an experienced user of AutoCAD software. Skilled at using various AV and ICT control systems the role is suitable for someone who enjoys leading a diverse team delivering high-quality results.
If successful, you can expect to become part of a talented, committed and creative team of people with a passion for screen culture. This Grade 3 role is offered on a full-time basis with a starting salary of $68,884 plus super. The role works a 14-day rotating roster that includes nights, weekends and on-call support.
