Tanks Arts Centre is looking for an experienced Senior Audio Visual Technician to join our world-class team, delivering great community events across the Cairns region. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a variety of multiarts venues situated in a stunning tropical setting on the Great Barrier Reef’s front door.

Primary Objective of the position:

  • To support the Technical Coordinator by assisting in the supervision, facilitation and delivery of all key audiovisual elements at the Tanks Art Centre (TAC) and The Court House Gallery (CH).
  • To operate and maintain all technical equipment and systems as required.
  • To work with the TAC and CH Technical team to ensure that events run smoothly, efficiently and with high production standards.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Possession of a Rigger’s Certification (or the ability to obtain).
  • Possession of a current LR Licence (or the ability to obtain).
  • Proven experience and proficiency in all aspects of audiovisual disciplines including, sound, lighting and vision.
  • A Passion for the Arts, Events and Technology.
  • Ability to direct a highly skilled technical team.  
  • A cultural awareness and excellent customer communication skills.
  • Practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Computer skills.
