Senior Audio Visual Technician

Location: Canberra
Job Type: Full-Time

$75,000 – $85,000 per year

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Audio-Visual Technician to join our expert team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for setting up, testing, and adjusting AV equipment, while ensuring the smooth running of live events and corporate meetings. Working closely with the Managing Director and internal stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in the design, installation, and operation of AV equipment for large-scale events.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set up, operate, and pack down audio-visual systems for a variety of events including concerts, tours, corporate events, trade shows, exhibitions, and festivals.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality AV experiences from pre-production to post-event.
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians, ensuring smooth execution of event operations.
  • Manage the installation and testing of AV equipment, props, and set-ups for live events.
  • Troubleshoot complex AV issues and provide quick, effective solutions to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Operate and maintain industry-leading AV technology and support large-scale rollouts.
  • Coordinate with various teams to plan, prepare, and execute exciting projects and shows.


Key Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years’ experience as a skilled operator in audio, vision, and lighting technologies.
  • Expertise in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of AV systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with PPT and Keynote for presentations.
  • Cross-training in Audio, Lighting, and Vision systems.
  • Experience coordinating large events and hardware logistics for festivals, corporate functions, and more.
  • Understanding of WHS regulations and commitment to safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with high-profile clients.
  • A “Can do” attitude and the ability to adapt to changing event needs.

Salary: Competitive and based on skills and experience, with a package exceeding the live performance award. The intended salary will be negotiated based on your qualifications and experience.
