Scene Change Melbourne has added Clay Paky Alpha Spot 300’s, Martin MAC101 moving head LED wash lights and an M2GO lighting controller to their inventory, as well as a bunch of the LED PAR Quad-7 fixtures.
“The M2GO is compact, priced well and certainly does what we need it to do,” commented Linton Gellatly, director of Scene Change Melbourne. “All the reviews I had heard or read were very positive and it has proved to be the right console for our size business. Everyone can easily get their head around using the console, in fact it’s very easy to use compared to some other consoles on the market. From my perspective it ticks all of the boxes; it’s priced well and we’re not paying for features we don’t need. Plus our guys don’t need training to use it.”
Eight Martin MAC 101 LED wash lights were also purchased and Linton is so impressed by them, he’s sure they will purchase some more in the near future.
“They really are an industry standard now,” added Linton. “They’re bright, fast, small, simple to use and they travel well. They really are good bang for your buck.”
The four Clay Paky Alpha Spot 300 spotlights acquired are described as simply awesome by Linton.
“They definitely put my other moving head spots to shame as they are incredibly bright,” he said. “Their optics are great and they certainly live up to the Clay Paky reputation.”
Linton cannot stress how enthralled he is with the LED PAR Quad-7, a member of the new LED PIXPAR range that is compact in size, utilises the latest in LED technology, is bright, looks fantastic and is also inexpensive.
“They are fantastic, we love them!” declared Linton. “We’re going to move away from our old LED PAR cans to these. They are neat, small, bright and, as they are a quad colour, they have a really nice white. They have a great dim so when you kill them, they dim out dissolving away like a tungsten source. Compared to our old LED PAR cans, they are very compact and so once I get rid of the old PARS, I’ll be able to get heaps in a road case. It’s often the little things that give you the most pleasure! We expected the Clay Paky fixtures to be great but these were a fabulous surprise.”
Consisting of 7 QUAD-COLOUR RGBW- 8Watt LEDs, the LED PAR Quad-7 can cover a large range of the colour spectrum including quality pastels, whites warm and cool. With a total 56Watts of LED power this compact unit has more than enough output to suit even the most fussy of production managers. Beam width is ideal, at 25degree, with control available via DMX, Static colour or Auto modes.
Linton remarks that he is delighted with the new purchases and adds that everyone is very happy with the customer service delivered by Show Technology.
