Scene Change invests in Martin RUSH Par 2’s and MAC101’s

Fast-growing national AV company Scene Change has increased its investment in Martin lighting products, building its Sydney lighting stocks with Martin MAC101’s and Martin Rush Par 2 RGBW Zooms.

Scene Change purchased the RUSH Par 2’s for their accurate colour mixing as these bright single-lens LED PAR Cans come with fully premixed colour from 12 RGBW LEDs and a spectacular 10 – 60 ° zoom. It offers electronic dimming and strobe and comes with a flexible bracket for floor or truss mounting.

“We have one large client who is very particular about their brand colour and we found that previous LED fixtures couldn’t deliver it,” said Vicken Hekimian, Sydney Director of Scene Change. “We’ve really found them to be a step up from what we’ve used before.”

Hekimian also likes the wide 100 to 600 zoom for its versatility, which helps get around the rigging restrictions in many hotel ballrooms.

Hekimian and senior lighting technician Jarrod Farr find the MAC101’s suit almost every kind of show, with the ability to get a lot of different looks out of a small package. They can light tables as a pinspot, sit on the stage, or light a party band in impressive style. Eight of them fit in a modest-sized roadcase, making them much easier to move around in vans than traditional moving fixtures.

“The MAC101’s are bright, fast, and lightweight, which is important for corporate shows where you don’t have a lot of time to set up or rehearse,” commented Vicken.

Their reliability has also impressed Jarrod, who uses the MAC101’s on a near-daily basis.

“We haven’t had one break down yet, which a major benefit for rental work,” he said.

Their commitment to new technology has seen Scene Change grow substantially in the last year, moving to its third new premises since the company opened in 2007. Scene Change was also recognised at the recent Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) Awards in Kuala Lumpur, taking out the Best Technical Production National Award for the third year running. This puts Scene Change into the MEA Hall of Fame, the only AV company to hold this accolade.

“Showtech have been a big part of the growth of our company,” remarked Vicken. “They’ve supported us since the start, and we have a level of trust that is really reassuring.”
