The Royalty Theatre on Angas Street is entering a new era with a significant LED lighting upgrade, enhancing its production capabilities while reducing operational costs. Thanks to the expertise of Showtools International and Calisthenics SA, the theatre has been transformed, replacing outdated fixtures with high-performance, energy-efficient lighting designed to meet modern production demands.
Expert Guidance for a Cost-Effective Solution
This upgrade was spearheaded by Wesley, Sales Manager at Showtools, who worked closely with Sally, the Theatre and Events Manager, to identify the best solution to bring the venue’s lighting system into the 21st century. With input from Chris Golding, Senior Theatre Technician, A plan was developed to transition to a Chauvet-based static and moving light rig, featuring:

When the new equipment arrived, Chris Golding received a birthday surprise: It was set up in just three days. Wesley oversaw the process, ensuring everything was installed correctly and efficiently, minimising the theatre’s downtime.
