A selection of four new Rodecaster Pro accessories has been launched by Røde for its podcast production studio, intended to make the mixer more portable while aiding organization and bringing smartphones into the mix.
Released in late 2018, the Rodecaster Pro was one of the first podcast-specific mixers to be released, bringing to the table typical small mixer features—four XLR inputs and headphone outputs, sound pads for triggering sound effects and stings, recording to microSD or a computer via USB, and more—in a design created with an eye towards podcast workflows.
The new accessories, then, include the DC-USB1, a power adaptor for powering the Rodecaster Pro from any compatible USB output. A high-power (2.4A minimum) USB output is required for operation, and a power bank is not included.
Also new is the SC9, a 1.5m TRRS to TRRS cable for connecting smartphones to the Rodecaster Pro; HJA-4, a four-pack of 1/8”-to-1/4” headphone adaptors; and XLR-ID, a set of eight colour-coded rings that can be affixed to any XLR plug to aid organization.
