Rod Finds Martin RUSH MH1 and MH2’s ideal for amateur theatre

Earlier this year Rod’s Sound & Lighting Services, who specialise in amateur theatre production, were on a mission to upgrade their Martin MAC250, MAC300 and MAC500 fixtures. Having seen the Martin RUSH range at Entech 2013, managing director Rodney Bertram arranged a demo of the gear and immediately knew that he had found his replacements.

Straight away Rodney ordered six RUSH MH1 Profiles and six RUSH MH2 Washes, impressed by their output, power and weight.

“My amateur theatre clients tend to have small budgets so I needed lights that were affordable yet versatile,” commented Rodney. “They needed to be able to go into all types of venues with all types of rigging and set up options.”

The RUSH MH1 is a super bright LED profile moving head with efficient optics that can punch out a variety of effects and colours from two gobo wheels and two colour wheels. For added versatility and effect, it also houses an electronic dimmer and strobe, iris and 3-facet prism.

“I really like the selections of the gobo wheels with the RUSH MH1 and of course the fact that it is LED rather than a standard globe lamp,” said Rodney. “The output of the RUSH MH1 is amazing.”

Rodney was so impressed by his six RUSH MH2 Washes, he has just taken delivery of another six of these compact yet powerful LED wash lights.

“I love these little wash lights, they are so versatile and fast,” he remarked. “The RGBW colour mixing is great as it gives you pure white which is useful for front white washes over people. The colour saturation is incredibly good. From a control point of view, the speed of them is fantastic and you can get some really unique wash beam effects.”
