Robe Roadshow – Robin Series Australian Launch

The Robe Roadshow kicked off mid May around Australia with massive anticipation ahead of the new Robe Robin Series launch.
Robe’s innovative use of revolutionary plasma lamp technology certainly caused a stir – the Robe Robin 300 Plasma Spot is a world first – a unique new generation of plasma lamp based fixture.

Also formally launched were other Robe fixtures including the new RedWash 3-192 which is currently being used on the World and Australian Pussycat Dolls tour.

Robe’s Managing Director Josef Valchár and ULA’s MD Cuono Biviano presented the Australian Robe Roadshows. Josef says, “Robe is always at the forefront of new and emerging technologies and is the first major moving light manufacturer to utilize this radical new technology from Luxim. The Lifi (Light fidelity) lamp is a highly efficient electrodeless lamp that uses radio waves to create plasma inside a small glass bulb (the “TIC-TAC” lamp), emitting 95 lumens per Watt”. Robe’s brand new Robin 300E Spot light is a compact, hugely powerful and fully energy conscious fixture.

The new Robin Series products make best use of the features offered by both the new Lifi Plasma lamp and the new Philips MSD Gold 300/2 MiniFastFit lamp. Fantastic results in the colour rendering output are achieved by plasma lamp technology, whilst the punchy output of the Philips lamp is multiplied by a unique(Hot-or-not-spot) reflector solution for remote hot-spot control (patent pending).

Patented intuitive smart presetting and control via a touch screen control panel with battery back-up for fixture set-up without power helps to make the Robin fixtures not only very cool but easy to control. The newly designed self-diagnostics feature gives the lighting operators and technicians constant operation overview throughout the lifespan of the fixture (patent pending). Automatic self-switchable power supply units are now a must for worldwide touring shows. They ensure that the correct voltage is always supplied to the lamp without the need for any region-specific adjustments (an appealing feature to any tech!).

Managing Director Cuono Biviano says, “We have been overwhelmed by the response from our clients and the industry in general,” he continues, “Robe certainly continues to be at the forefront of technology, and I know that the Robin Series with so many features in such a compact form, will be a must have for many companies”. The event attracted over 90 lighting specialists including Lighting Designers, Production Houses and Performing Arts Venues. The format of the event offered an excellent opportunity to talk to attendees individually, and give everyone the important time they needed close-up with the products.
