Simon Allen reviews the 2U rack-mounted VST3 plug-in server from Fourier Audio
I first met Henry Harrod – one of the co-founders of Fourier Audio along with Peter Bridgman and Gareth Owen – at the PLASA Show in London a few years ago where the company was announcing Fourier Rewind. This was a multi-channel recording application designed to enable live sound engineers the ability to ‘rewind’ up to 15 minutes for simpler fault finding. While this product is currently taking a back seat to make way for transform.engine, it was already apparent that there were some new and intriguing ideas behind a company we hadn’t heard about before, based on real-world experience and a pragmatic approach to designing solutions.
Now, in September 2024, it’s great to see the journey has gone full-circle as Fourier Audio returned to the PLASA Show and won a prestigious PLASA Award for Innovation for transform.engine. While I wasn’t on the board of judges this year, I have judged these awards several times before and know first-hand how stringent the process is.
What’s more, Fourier Audio has joined the Audiotonix family alongside DiGiCo and now shares offices with the digital console giant. This is an exciting time for Fourier Audio, and this new product is already being incorporated into some major events.
