Quantum physicist and founder of L-Acoustics, Christian Heil, pioneered line source technology in the ‘90s. Decades later, this is still the standard speaker format for most live events around the world. So how can the originators of this technology radically improve on their own proven format? Well, this is something they’ve clearly been asking themselves, and claim their new L Series is the breakthrough they’ve been working on.
To look into this new design, which took many by surprise early last year, I visited the L-Acoustics HQ in Marcoussis, France to see director of media relations, Mary Beth Henson, and Germain Simon, director of product management, loudspeakers. The L Series is certainly one of the most striking advancements in line source technology in recent times and has certainly sparked much curiosity. I was extremely excited to see and hear what this new development was all about, but to also find out if this really is the future of line source technology.
