There seems to be more to the ARRI Orbiter lighting fixture than meets the eye. Sure, it looks a great light source. The manufacturer says it has an average CRI greater than 98, an average TLCI of greater than 95, and an
average TM-30 of greater than 94, and those are all spectacular numbers. ARRI has a good track record for building fixtures with high colour rendition, and the Orbiter seems to be no exception. It uses a six-colour LED light engine (RGBACL) to produce a full spectrum white light and a wide colour gamut. ARRI says the Orbiter’s colour gamut is 15% larger
than previous ARRI LED light engines. The correlated colour temperature (CCT) ranges from 2,000K to 20,000K.
