Intense Lighting Hire, a leading provider of professional lighting solutions for events, film, television and corporate productions, is seeking a skilled and motivated Repair Technician to join our growing team in Botany, New South Wales.
About the Role
As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing and maintaining our extensive inventory of professional lighting equipment. You will work closely with our warehouse, operations and hire teams to ensure all equipment is repaired and maintained to the highest standard and ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults in professional lighting equipment (LED fixtures, moving heads, control equipment, power distribution & accessories).
- Perform routine maintenance, and quality assurance checks.
- Maintain accurate repair logs, parts usage and equipment status updates.
- Manage inventory of spare parts.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Support warehouse operations when required.
- Manage out of commission reports within existing rental software.
- Ensure safe work practices, adherence to company policies and Australian compliance are met.
About You
- Experience repairing or maintaining lighting, electrical, audio-visual or similar technical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and repair documentation.
- Good understanding of electrical safety (Test & Tag qualification is a bonus).
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, initiative, self-motivated and a positive attitude.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience in event lighting, production, or electronics repair.
- Current unrestricted drivers license.
- Test & Tag certification or willingness to obtain.
- Electrical, electronic or production technology training.
