Ravenswood’s Student Crew Shines with Chauvet’s Proven Performance

On 25 March 2025, Ravenswood School for Girls once again captivated audiences with their highly anticipated annual showcase, Ravo Presents, featuring this year’s thrilling theme: ABBA. Students shared the stage with a live professional band, creating a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere in the school’s auditorium.

The performance was a resounding success, with the audience joyfully dancing and singing along to beloved ABBA classics. Central to the show’s remarkable visual presentation was a stunning array of Chauvet lighting fixtures, proudly supplied by Showtools International, which brilliantly elevated every moment of the production.

Ravenswood utilised an accurate and thoughtful selection of Chauvet equipment for the show, including 18 x Rogue R1X Spots, 11 x Maverick MK2 Washes, 6 x Legend 412Z Washes, Festoon 2 RGB strings, and front lighting powered by F-915FC Fresnels and E-910FC Profiles. These fixtures are part of a broader and growing inventory of Chauvet gear the school has built over the past decade, an investment that continues to deliver outstanding results year after year.

Ravenswood is marking ten years of collaboration with Chauvet and Showtools International, having initially acquired Chauvet lighting fixtures a decade ago, consistently adding new gear to enhance their productions. The continued flawless operation of these original fixtures underscores Chauvet’s exceptional durability, innovative technology, and unmatched reliability. The addition of the Maverick MK2 Washes further highlights Ravenswood’s confidence in Chauvet’s ability to deliver powerful, versatile, and visually striking lighting solutions. With extensive zoom capabilities, these fixtures effortlessly transitioned between bold beam effects and rich, smooth washes, creating captivating visuals that significantly enhanced the show’s dynamic appeal.

Critical to the show’s outstanding technical execution was Ravenswood’s dedicated student backstage crew, affectionately known as the “Girls In Black.” These talented students were hands-on across all aspects of technical production, operating cameras, calling shots, managing live switching, and running content for the LED wall. They also executed followspot duties with precision and care, playing a pivotal role in drawing focus and emotion to key moments on stage. Their involvement showcases the invaluable opportunity Ravenswood provides for students to engage with professional-level production environments and gain real-world experience in the creative industries.

A special acknowledgment goes to the individuals behind the seamless technical execution: Jason Grimsted designed, programmed, and operated the lighting rig, while Conor Fitzpatrick led the Girls In Black team and created the stunning visuals for the LED wall. Also, thank you to Eli Malka for his continued support and dedication in maintaining the relationship and ensuring Ravenswood is equipped with the very best from Chauvet.

Showtools International proudly supports Ravenswood’s continued excellence in performing arts and congratulates the students and staff on another spectacular performance.
