QSC has announced a series of online training courses for its recently introduced L Class series of intelligent active loudspeakers for applications ranging from plug-and-play deployments to more demanding networked AV productions and fixed installations. (Go here to check out the training courses and get started.)
The new LA108 (two-way, 8-inch) and LA112 (two-way, 12-inch) active line array loudspeakers are complemented by the LS118 (single 18-inch) active subwoofer. Onboard Dante connects L Class to networked AV systems and connected stages.
The modular online training course, which includes an overview of the many L Class technologies, cmodular online training course, which includes an overview of the many L Class technologies, covers everything from basic menu navigation to setup, deployment and operation of a complete L Class rig to help users (and potential users) get the most out of their system.
The easy-to-follow tutorial videos are focused and concise, starting with an introduction to L Class and the instructors, with brief explanations of all of the product highlights and features, followed by a deeper dive providing more details on topics that include:
— The Rear User Interface (RUI) menu of the LA108 and LA112, where users will learn to navigate the simple interface using the onboard controls and get familiar with the entire menu system.
— The unique QSC RapidDeploy rigging system of the LA108 and LA112.
— Deployment of an L Class array in a flown configuration using the L Class array frame, including the proper procedures for setting up, adjusting angles and tearing down an array.
— Ground stack deployment of an L Class array using the array frame over the LS118 subwoofer.
— How to deploy a small number of LA108 or LA112 loudspeakers on a loudspeaker stand or on an extension pole above a subwoofer.
— The intelligent onboard QSC AWARE system that communicates essential setup information to users via the RUI or QSC SysNav App for optimizing arrays in any configuration to consistently get the best performance.
— The System Navigator (SysNav) app, the control and monitoring software application for L Class systems. It begins with the process of downloading and installing the application on on iPad or Windows PC and then proceeds to demonstrate making a successful connection to an L Class system.
— How to control an L Class system using the “Control” module within SysNav as well as how to access the various monitoring screens for real-time system telemetry.
— The AIM module within the System Navigator application, offering pre-deployment visualization of the acoustic coverage. The video shows how to add venue parameters within the software and populate an L Class system to be modeled.
Following completion of the video series, there’s a Class Assessment so that users can evaluate their knowledge and if necessary, revisit specific topics.
