Last year, Parkes Shire Council contacted Show Technology to discuss the use of exterior projection to liven up their main street. They required an exterior projector that could provide multiple images for use all year round with the first images to be used as part of the town’s Christmas display 2020.
The Martin Exterior™ Projection 500, designed for integrating textures, patterns and graphics in outdoor lighting designs, was the ideal fixture for the job on hand.
The fixture can be used for bright and dynamic logo projection as well as precision framing. Using advanced LED technology, it stands out for its energy efficiency, compact size and unlimited creative opportunities.
Allan Brown of Centrestate Sound & Lighting was tasked with the project commenting that he was sceptical at first as to whether the Martin Exterior™ Projection 500 was up to the job!
“They’re a very good fixture,” conceded Allan. “I was most impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
Three Martin Exterior™ Projection 500 fixtures project onto buildings and also the footpath where homage is paid to the famous Parkes Radio Telescope with a space-themed projection sequence.
Nearly all of the existing gobos have been replaced with custom gobos from our friends at Gobotech and these include the Elvis Festival, Christmas motifs and Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon.
An ELC DMX Scene Player is mounted within each of the three Urban Aluminium Smart Poles that incorporate a universal bracketing system enabling the mounting of the Martin Exterior™ Projection 500. At the push of a fader, a council workman can simply change the theme and the show is set to come on at dusk and switch off at sunrise.
With their rugged IP66-rated housing, the Martin Exterior™ Projection 500 requires minimal maintenance adding to the low total cost of ownership.
