Project Manager

Mandylights is a respected lighting, production and visual design firm with offices in Australia and the United Kingdom. The company has a diverse portfolio; working primarily in entertainment, light art, architectural, experiential, corporate and special event markets. The company has completed projects in over fifty countries to date while maintaining a dedicated team of designers, production, administrative and technical staff in our Sydney office/warehouse. With over a decade of operation, Mandylights is expanding in both Australia and overseas.

The Project Manager is responsible for the management and execution of all applicable tasks in relation to the successful delivery of company projects. This includes management of the project budget, schedules, technical and production elements and overall quality control to ensure that the project is delivered to the highest creative, technical and administrative standards. The Project Manager reports to the General Manager and Managing Director.

This role requires flexible work hours and will involve onsite production work. The role will be performed at a variety of locations, requiring some time at the Mandylights Australia office in Leichhardt and on-site at various project locations (across Sydney) as required. There is also the capacity for the role to be performed from home or other personal location.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

– Act as the main point of contact for the project to help ensure all stakeholders and the end  client are kept informed and quality of service is maintained;
– Actively work to identify and comply with internal and client-lead milestones for all elements of delivery
– Oversee and manage the project budget – work with the creative, technical and administrative team to accurately develop costs and quotes for the project, and assist the  finance team to accurately forecast outgoings throughout;
– Develop and maintain technical and production plans, including but not limited to SWMS, production schedules and technical CAD files;
– Manage and oversee project freight and logistics – including international freight and local trucking – ensuring all production and technical components are delivered to site cost-effectively, while ensuring milestones/key dates are met;
– Manage the booking of resources including technical crew, subcontractors, vehicles, accommodation, site equipment, etc – ensuring all costs remain controlled and to/under budget;
– Ensure that the company and its staff and contractors comply with all relevant WHS and other applicable legislative and client requirements;
– Oversee and support on-site crew, client and equipment management as a representative of  the company;
–  Work consistently with creative designers to ensure that the creative delivery is of a high standard; and
–  Assist with technical and production duties such as preparation of equipment if required.
